Errazuriz 2008 Wild Ferment Chardonnay (Casablanca Valley)

Generally speaking, Errazuriz's progressive wines hit their marks. But this Chard seems to be substituting oak for substance. The bouquet comes straight from the barrel, and the palate is resiny as it houses lemony, baked apple flavors. Finishes as woody as it began. Too much oak, plain and simple.
