La Castellina 2008 Squarcialupi Riserva (Chianti Classico)

Squarcialupi Riserva has shown a successful evolution over the years. This bottling opens with tangy aromas of tobacco, dark fruit, clove and eucalyptus. Small percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are added to the blend, but the wine's winning card comes from Sangiovese's natural acidity, which lends the wine a crisp, menthol-like finish.
