Solminer 2014 Rubelite Syrah (Santa Ynez Valley)

An excellent wine for those seeking a snappy, tart take on Rhône grapes, this blend of 90% Syrah, 9% Grenache and 1% Riesling shows dried strawberries, plum and pencil shavings on the nose. The palate is tart with plum skin, asphalt and black rocks, a very intriguing style though not for those seeking a hearty Syrah.
