Marilyn 2011 Norma Jean Merlot (California)

There's lots to like in this affordable Merlot, and it's not just the fantastic label of a young, beautiful Marilyn Monroe. The wine itself is dry and firm in tannins, with blackberry and chocolate-covered raisin flavors. The alcohol is a refreshingly low 12.5% by volume. A great accomplishment. Production was 4,000 cases.
