Yvon Mau 2005 Shiraz (Vin de Pays de L'Aude)

This impressive value from Bordeaux house Yvon Mau shows that Languedoc-Roussillon is capable of turning out serious Syrah/Shiraz at a reasonable price. Seared meat, black pepper and raspberry scents make for a nice opening while cherry and white pepper flavors permeate the moderately intense palate. Short finish; drink up.
