Baby Bear 2009 Syrah (Columbia Valley (WA))

Baby Bear is a collaboration between Eric Dunham and the actor Kyle MacLachlan, styled as a lighter version of their Pursued by Bear Syrah. This is a most enjoyable wine, with a big yum factor from the generous barrel scents and flavors. Toasty, smoky, a bit astringent, but beautifully streamlined, it displays a full array of black fruits, adorned with lots of dusty, toasty barrel highlights.
